Felt Collage and Wearable Art
My felt collages are personal interpretations of the traditional arts of central Mexico: Otomi and Tejuantepec embroidery, Zapotec alebrijes, Talavera pottery, and Teotitlan weaving. My work also includes still lifes of my favorite tulips and fanciful flowers in a mix of color and pattern, cats and dogs and goats in whimsical settings and crisp geometric assemblages with centers of vintage and handmade buttons.
Much of the felt I use is made from recycled plastic bottles.
